In KS2 Science Club, the budding young scientists have erupted their volcanoes! First of all, they crafted a volcano out of salt dough and an empty plastic bottle. They then painted the volcano and let it dry before using vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, washing up liquid, red food dye and warm water to cause the lava to pour out. Over the last few weeks, the scientists have also explored sound waves through making their own telephones and checking the range of the phone; made Newton's wheel to investigate light; tried a range of optical illusions and planted tomato seeds in a range of harsh environments to investigate how, in the arid soil of Mexico, farmers are able to get full crops to feed the inhabitants. I wonder what they will explore next...?
