Firstly, I would like to wish all parents and carers a very happy new year.
You will probably be aware from social media sites or local newspaper coverage that some threats have been made to Montgomery high school. These threats are being investigated by local police and they are trying to trace the writer of these comments. I would like to reassure you as parents that NO threats have been made to St Bernadette’s and it is perfectly safe for school to reopen as usual on Monday 4th January. There will be an appropriate police presence around the area on Monday morning. Please be assured that we take the safety of our children and staff very seriously and I can guarantee that everything will be done to ensure they are safe whilst in school.
The police do not consider the threats to be credible and will keep us up to date with any developments. I will be at the front gate on Monday morning to welcome children back to school and I look forward to seeing you all back for a brand new term.
